A farmer named Clyde had a car accident. In court, the trucking company's
fancy lawyer was questioning Clyde ..
"Didn't you say, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine,'?" asked the
lawyer.
Clyde responded, "Well, I'll tell you what happened... I had just loaded
my favorite mule, Bessie..."
"I didn't ask for any details", the lawyer interrupted. "Just answer the
question. Did you not say, at the scene of the accident, 'I'm fine!'?"
Clyde said, "Well, I had just got Bessie into the trailer and I was
driving down the road....."
The lawyer interrupted again and said, "Judge, I am trying to establish
the fact that, at the scene of the accident, this man told the Highway
Patrolman on the scene that he was just fine. Now several weeks after the
accident he is trying to sue my client. I believe he is a fraud.
Please tell him to simply answer the question."
By this time, the Judge was fairly interested in Clyde 's answer and said
to the lawyer, "I'd like to hear what he has to say about his favorite
mule, Bessie".
Clyde thanked the Judge and proceeded.
"Well as I was saying, I had just loaded Bessie, my favorite mule, into
the trailer and was driving her down the highway when this huge
semi-truck and trailer ran the stop sign and smacked my truck right in
the side. I was thrown into one ditch and Bessie was thrown into the
other..
I was hurtin', real bad and didn't want to move. But, I could hear ole
Bessie moaning and groaning.
I knew she was in terrible shape just by her groans.
Shortly after the accident a Highway Patrolman came on the scene.
He could hear Bessie moaning and groaning so he went over to her.
After he looked at her, and saw her condition, he took out his gun and
shot her between the eyes..
Then the Patrolman came across the road, gun still in hand, looked at me
and said, "How are you feeling?"
"Now what would YOU say?"

SWEDEN: The Govt is trying to make Home schooling illegal --- Please sign the outside of Sweden Petition
Apparently there is a new law pending in Sweden to make homeschooling totally illegal.
The Home educators in Sweden have started two Petitions to help in their fight to be able to keep home educating their children.
One Petition is for those in Sweden the other (this link) is for those outside of Sweden:

The Swedish Government is trying to pull the rug from underneath the home-educated children in Sweden, in their proposal for a new School Law.
We will not sit still and passively watch while our kids are forced (!) to school, after so many years in what they love: To learn in their own pace, in a safe environment, and to develop without social limitations.
A legal and very successful alternative to school is about to be erased, without any grounds or research! Rohus is a review-organisation, and we will write a massive review.
For this reason, we ask you to join in supporting our work - sign the petition! We will use it together with our review, among other things.

THOUGHT:
In today's Scripture, which occurs immediately after the dedication of the Temple, God told Solomon that the Temple would be a place his people could come and be assured that their prayers would be heard if they honestly and humbly would seek God. This promise is true still, to this very day, for while God's physical Temple isn't standing, his spiritual one is found in the gathering of his people (cf. 1 Cor. 3:16; Matt. 18:20). While we know that God hears our individual prayers, what a great blessing and what a powerful promise for God's people today! We know that when we gather with believers and humble ourselves before God and seek his presence he will hear us. Rather than wait for a grandiose, world-wide effort to start, why not get together regularly with others who will join us in this prayer effort?
PRAYER:
Loving Father, earnestly I seek your presence now. Please forgive me for my sin. Please use me to be an influence for good in my time. Most of all, Father, please move to bring revival and healing to our time, our people, and our land. We desperately need your guidance, blessing, and character in our government and among our people. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

MAY YOUR SEEDS BE MANY

Each spring, one of the first plants in my yard to survive the winter
is the dandelion.
It stands tall above the awakening lawn, proudly displaying it's
sun-colored blossoms. It seems so full of life and energy. It is a very
independent plant that respects no rules and insists on living where you
don't want it to be.
The dandelion is in great demand by some and hated by others. I
called my eighty-five year old mother one day last spring. Usually I check
on her once a day by phone. I tried calling her several times during the
morning. Each time there was no answer. Finally, I drove the twenty-three
miles to her house, only to find her on her hands and knees in the front
yard. My first thought was that she had fallen and was trying to get up.
After running over to help her she said, " Leave me be, I am just picking
some dandelions. I always have them in the spring. They are my spring
tonic."
Down the street, her ninety year old neighbor was engaged in the same
process. She was only picking the blossoms. She saw me staring with my
mouth open I think, and hollered, "I am picking the flowers to make
dandelion wine. It is good for what ails you." A man across the street
was busy with his lawn spreader, applying feed and weed. He just looked at
me and shook his head. He knew, as I did, that in a few days these pretty
yellow plants would turn white and provide millions of seeds that would
blow across the street into his velvet like weed free yard.
It is interesting how the human species is like the dandelion. When
young and full of life, we are the first one up in the morning. A two year
old is always into something and most likely where he is not supposed to
be. As the dandelion matures, its flower turns to white. It's mission in
life is to spread around as well as it can to perpetuate it's species.
Every thing the next generation needs to know is contained in those white
blossoms, (hair if you will) and is passed on. We, on the other hand,
don't usually turn white before we spread our "seeds". But, most of us
spend twenty or more years educating our "seeds" with the knowledge they
need to survive. That is of course, if we don't pull it all out first.
The winter finds the dandelion resting under the snow surviving on
nutrition stored in its root. The now elderly parent survives, living off
his savings and Social Security at home or in a nursing home.
Sometimes the dandelion gets to live another season, unless he is in a
weed and feed yard. We humans don't have zealous neighbors to poison us,
but we do have nature's weed killers to contend with -- we call them
cancer, heart disease, accidents, war, etc. When the weed killer gets the
dandelion, there are many seeds left behind to carry on. When life's
killers attack us and win, there is a new generation to take up life's
challenges.
May your "seeds" be many and your "weed killers" be few.

BLACKBERRY MEMORIES

One of my fondest childhood memories is of blackberry picking.
For 3 weeks each summer, our family went to our camp in the Adirondack
Mountains for vacation. The camp had been built by my father and
grandfather. By the time I was aware of the surroundings, there were many
more summer cottages on our road, but the land had originally been cleared,
and the road built, by my dad and his father.
Depending on when my father's vacation fell, there were different
things we enjoyed. Of course, walks in the woods scored high, and lots of
days of swimming, and rowing on the lake. If however, vacation came in
late August, it was the beginning of blackberry picking time. If vacation
sometimes came earlier, then my dad would be sure that the "blackberry
outing" took place on an early fall weekend.
I don't know how old I was when I was first allowed to go along, but I
must have been quite young. Before starting out, my mother would be sure
that we were wearing long sleeved shirts and long pants, because blackberry
bushes are very thorny!
We would hike up our neighbor's road (because it was closer to our
destination), cross the main highway, and start up along an old logging
road next to a once-active saw mill. My dad would lead me into the woods,
and when we came to a clump of bushes that were heavy with the beautiful
purple berries, he would leave me there and wander a short distance away to
find a good picking spot for himself. I couldn't always see him, but he
would call to me or I would call to him, so I always knew that he wasn't
far away.
When our berry buckets were full (though mine was never as full as
his), home we would go, sampling a few of those lucious berries as we made
our way back. My mother didn't care for berry picking, but she made the
most wonderful blackberry pie, and she always got right to the task as soon
as we returned. Those pies would be our dessert that very evening!
To this day, eating a piece of blackberry pie, or even seeing a little
crate of blackberries on a roadside stand, takes me back to those happy,
carefree days of enjoying the quiet of the woods, gathering those delicious
fruits, and precious time spent with my father.
